The party had won 135 seats in the May 10 Karnataka Assembly elections, but has been facing a dilemma in choosing between the two stalwarts. The decision is expected to be announced today, May 15. Siddaramaiah and DK Shivakumar are in a neck-to-neck war to become the top leader of the southern state. Both leaders have openly expressed their ambition to lead the state. The Congress Legislature Party has authorized AICC President M Mallikarjun Kharge to select the next chief minister of the state. The decision was unanimous.
