Yemen has named the cyclone, Mocha, which is set to bring heavy rainfall to the Andaman island chain. The storm is expected to reach peak intensity on the evening of May 13 and weaken slightly from May 14 before crossing southeast Bangladesh. The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a warning for fishermen and advised people to take necessary precautions. Yemen has also been experiencing heavy rainfall and flooding due to the cyclone. A cyclonic storm named Tauktae is likely to hit the western coast of India between May 16 and 18, warns the India Meteorological Department (IMD). It has asked all coastal states, including Gujarat, Maharashtra, Goa, Karnataka and Kerala to brace for the impending impact. Fishermen of the Andaman and Nicobar coasts have been advised not to venture into the sea until May 13.
