Myanmar's Rakhine state was hit by Cyclone Amphan, leading to floods and property damage. The winds were clocked at 130 miles per hour, causing infrastructure to collapse. While rescue efforts were successful, at least three people are reported to have died during the cyclone's landfall. The country has been struggling with the COVID-19 pandemic, and the incoming storm led to the evacuation of thousands to safety. The largest storm to hit the Bay of Bengal in over a decade has caused severe damage to infrastructure in Sittwe, Myanmar. Roads have turned into rivers, and houses, transformers, mobile phone towers, boats, and lampposts have been damaged, according to the military information office.
