Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese has confirmed that the Quad summit slated to be hosted in Sydney will not be held without the presence of US President Joe Biden, whose upcoming visit has been postponed due to ongoing debt ceiling negotiations in the US capital. The leaders of Australia, the United States, India and Japan will meet at the G7 in Japan instead of in Sydney after President Joe Biden cancelled his scheduled visit to the city. Australian opposition leader, Anthony Albanese, confirmed the news, adding that he was glad the countries would still have the opportunity to meet. Biden's trip to Asia also included a visit to Papua New Guinea, which was cancelled. The reasons for the cancellations have not been made public.
