The Indian Supreme Court's Constitution bench is hearing petitions that challenge the removal of Article 370, which ended the special status of Jammu and Kashmir. The bench is chaired by Chief Justice DY Chandrachud and Justices Sanjay Kishan Kaul, R Subhash Reddy, BR Gavai, and Surya Kant. More than 20 petitions challenging the Central government's decision to revoke Jammu and Kashmir's special status by abrogating Article 370 of the Constitution are pending before the Indian Supreme Court. The move resulted in the bifurcation of the erstwhile State into two Union Territories.
