The satellite images show that China has been building a dam in Tibet. It is being built on the tributary of river Ganga close to the India and Nepal border. This dam will be used to regulate the flow of water downstream. This development came after China revealed its plan to build dam close to LAC.

The satellite images of Joshimath were released by ISRO which showed that the town is slowly sinking due to land subsidence. It further revealed that in the last 12 days, 5.4cm subsidence happened. This is the time period between December 27 and January 8. On the other hand it had recorded subsidence of 9cm in the last 7 months.

Chipmaker Qualcomm Inc. has recently claimed it’s partnering with Iridium Communications Inc. to bring in satellite-based messaging for high-end Android smartphones. It will allow them to communicate without having WiFi-based internet connectivity. The companies have also informed us that the new technology has several potential use cases, including enabling SOS services, SMS texts, and other low-bandwidth messaging applications.
