Phogat has said it is difficult to stand up against an influential person abusing his power and position. The wrestlers are protesting against the selection process for the upcoming World Championships, alleging favoritism and manipulation. They have demanded a fair selection process and the removal of Singh from his position. Wrestlers have protested against the president of the Wrestling Federation of India (WFI), demanding his arrest following allegations of sexual harassment. The WFI president has denied all allegations and said an internal committee has already cleared him of wrongdoing.
