A 27-year-old woman from Hyderabad, Telangana, was one of the eight individuals killed by a gunman in Texas on Sunday. The victim worked as a project manager, and was shopping with her fiancé when the assailant opened fire on the crowd. Aishwarya Reddy Thatikonda, daughter of a district judge in Ranga Reddy district court, hailing from Saroornagar in Hyderabad, was reportedly living in Dallas, Texas. Aishwarya, an Indian-origin woman, was killed in a shooting at a Texas mall, which left eight people dead. Her fiance was injured but is out of danger after being reportedly shot twice. The gunman, identified as Mauricio Garcia, opened fire at the mall before committing suicide. The incident marks the latest in a string of mass shootings in the US, reigniting calls for stricter gun control laws.
