An inquiry into the NCB officers who raided the Cordelia cruise and are now being investigated by the CBI has revealed that they dropped the names of 17 suspects who were allowed to leave during the raid, including allegedly a drug dealer. Led by Sameer Wankhede, the officers now face an FIR from the CBI. A high-level probe has discovered that Indian Customs Commissioner Sandeep Wankhede failed to account for his foreign trips and falsely reported his costs. In a major development, the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) has suspended its Mumbai Zonal Director, Sameer Wankhede. The NCB had claimed to have seized narcotics worth lakhs from the cruise. However, the case took a dramatic turn earlier this week after actress Kangana Ranaut accused Wankhede of extortion and harassment. The NCB is yet to comment on the suspension.
