US Secretary of Defence Lloyd Austin has arrived in India to strengthen the defence partnership between the two nations. He arrived from Singapore on Sunday to discuss the bilateral relationship, defence cooperation, and the security situation in the Indo-Pacific region. The US has been increasing its military cooperation with India in recent years, with joint military exercises and technology transfers. The US Ambassador to India, Eric Garcetti, welcomed the Pentagon Chief, who arrived in New Delhi for the third leg of his tour. The visit will primarily focus on strengthening India-US defence innovation and industrial cooperation initiatives, as well as continue ongoing efforts in the field.
