US singer Mary Millben will play "Jana Gana Mana" and "Om Jai Jagadish"

African American singer Mary Millben, a cultural ambassador for the US, will visit India on August 15 to take part in and perform at the 75th Independence Day commemoration event. The 40-year-old singer is the first American and African American performer to be invited to India by the Ministry of External Affairs and the Indian Council for Cultural Relations. She is well known for her stirring renditions of "Om Jai Jagadish Hare" and "Jana Gana Mana" (ICCR). She will be a special guest representing the US, the notification said. A 1.4 billion-person audience will see her perform.
