The Supreme Court Collegium has suggested the relocation of three Calcutta High Court judges. Justice Shekhar B Saraf has been recommended for a transfer to Allahabad High Court, while Justice Lapita Banerji has been suggested for Punjab and Haryana. On August 3, the Collegium proposed transfers for several judges, but Justice Saraf requested reconsideration or alternative transfer to Delhi, Hyderabad, Bangalore, or Chandigarh. Justice Saraf appealed for reconsideration of his transfer or to be transferred to Delhi, Hyderabad, Bangalore, or Chandigarh. While Justice Banerji expressed her readiness to transfer to the Punjab and Haryana High Court, she did not address Justice Saraf's request.
