Sharad Pawar has resigned as chief of the Nationalist Congress Party (NCP), sparking further speculation that his nephew Ajit Pawar may join the BJP. Sharad Pawar's resignation comes after an internal feud within the NCP, which saw a group of leaders claim that Ajit Pawar had betrayed the party by supporting the BJP in the recent Maharashtra state elections. Surprisingly, he is nephew Ajit Pawar by his side announcing an appointee panel to plan the way forward. Sharad Pawar is also considered one of India's most potent regional leaders. He has been instrumental in forming the ruling coalition with Shiv Sena and Congress in Maharashtra last year.
