Ukrainian forces have claimed to have shot down Russian drones and cruise missiles attacking the Black Sea port of Odesa in retaliation for a Russian attack that damaged a bridge to Crimea. All six missiles and drones were allegedly destroyed by air defences. Tensions between Russia and Ukraine have escalated in recent weeks, with Russia accusing Ukraine of trying to provoke a conflict, while Ukraine has accused Russia of amassing troops on its border. The US and EU have expressed support for Ukraine, whilst Russia has said it is acting in self-defence.
