The Supreme Court bench that was hearing the petition regarding the same-sex marriage recognition on Thursday said that really there is any progress in the law anyhow. 

"Is the existence of two spouses who belong to a binary gender necessary for the requirement of marriage or has our law now progressed sufficiently to contemplate...” said Chief Justice.
