While the drop was expected due to the film's lacklustre weekend performance, the magnitude of the dip has left many contemplating the movie's box office run. Directed by Om Raut, Adipurush is a retelling of the Hindu epic Ramayana. Adipurush earned a strong Rs 101 crores nett in the Hindi belt over the weekend, thanks to multiple factors such as aggressive ticket bookings by the makers. This kept the film's numbers high despite poor reviews and word-of-mouth.
