Pervez Musharraf, the Former Pakistani President and military dictator, who rose to prominence as the architect of the Kargil War, has been living as a fugitive since 2019. Musharraf seized control of the Pakistani Government in a military coup in 1999 and served as President until 2008. He is widely credited with initiating the Kargil War with India in 1999, and his tenure as President was marked by intense military Action against Islamic militants. In recent years, however, Musharraf's fortunes have changed dramatically.
