Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis has said that no Muslim in India is a descendant of Aurangzeb, and that nationalist Muslims do not recognize the Mughal emperor as their leader. He also criticised Prakash Ambedkar, chief of a political party for Dalits and Muslims, for making incendiary statements that have been linked to recent episodes of communal violence in the state. Fadnavis emphasized the importance of promoting social harmony and unity to avoid such incidents. VBA leader Ambedkar visited Shiv Sena founder Bal Thackeray's memorial on Saturday.
