Meghalaya Chief Minister and National People's Party (NPP) leader Conrad K Sangma declared on Monday that he has no control over the decision to deny Prime Minister Narendra Modi's rally at the PA Sangma Sports Complex in Tura. This statement came after the state's sports department refused to grant approval for the rally because of construction work occurring at the venue. The BJP, which had recently concluded their partnership with the NPP in anticipation of the February 27 Assembly election, asserted that the ruling party was attempting to obstruct the "wave of the BJP" in the state.
