Lionel Messi got honoured as the Best Men's Player

On Monday, Lionel Messi was honoured as FIFA Player of the Year after his historic victory at the World Cup with Argentina in December. The 35-year-old forward notched two goals in the Championship match, which ended in a draw after extra time and was decided on penalties. Alexia Putellas of Spain was named the best female player for a second consecutive year, beating U.S.A. 's Alex Morgan and England’s Beth Mead, who had led her team to the 2022 European Championship title. Argentina’s coach, Lionel Scaloni, was voted Men’s Coach of the Year, and England’s Sarina Wiegman won Women’s Coach of the Year.
