Australian opener Usman Khawaja has dismissed concerns over England's change of balls during the fifth and final match of the 2023 Ashes series. Former captain Ricky Ponting had called for an investigation into the issue, which he claimed had helped turn around England's fortunes and lead to their series-levelling win. However, Khawaja said that Australia had no excuses for their defeat and that the team needed to take responsibility for their performance. He added that England had played better cricket throughout the series and deserved to win.
