The Indian Government on Monday increased the windfall tax on domestically produced crude oil and aviation turbine fuel with high-Speed diesel. The windfall tax on crude oil has now been raised to Rs 2,100 per ton from the existing Rs. 1,700, per a Notification issued by the Central Board of Indirect Taxes and Customs. With the revised taxing rate being effective from January 3. The windfall tax on aviation turbine fuel has now been raised by about Rs 4.5 per liter from the existing Rs 1.5 per liter.
