Human Rights Watch has called on the Pakistani government to show restraint and respect for human rights amid a crackdown on PTI supporters following attacks on army installations. The group has called for an end to arbitrary arrests and detentions. Tensions have escalated in the country since the arrest of PTI chairman, Imran Khan, earlier this month. Human Rights Watch has called for Pakistani authorities to release the thousands of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) supporters who have been detained in recent weeks on charges related to rioting. ""The Pakistani authorities should release all those arrested solely for exercising their rights to peaceful assembly and freedom of expression,"" HRW said in a statement.
