In response to the Competition Commission of India's (CCI) mandate, Google has modified its ‘Google Play payment policy’ to incorporate an alternate payment system for users buying products within apps on mobile phones and tablets, in addition to Google Play's existing billing system. Developers, however, have accused Google of “seeking out ways to circumvent” the CCI's directive.
