Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Sheikh Hasina will inaugurate the India-Bangladesh energy pipeline on Saturday via video-conferencing. The pipeline has been built at an estimated cost of ₹377 crores, with ₹285 crores spent on the Bangladesh side. This is the first India-Bangladesh energy pipeline, and it will foster stronger ties between both countries. The pipeline will transport up to one million metric tonnes of high-speed diesel per annum (MMTPA) to seven districts in northern Bangladesh.
