The Delhi High Court found a wife guilty of contempt of court for violating a settlement agreement with her husband and failing to comply with the undertaking to follow it given to the family court. Justice Manmeet Pritam Singh Arora imposed a fine of Rs. 2,000 on the wife. The court has given a two-week ultimatum to a woman to comply with the terms of a settlement agreement and tender an unconditional apology to avoid punishment. If she does so and refrains from filing further legal proceedings, she may be spared from punishment. Justice Arora presided over a contempt case where the husband accused his wife of deliberately violating the terms of their settlement agreement and the affidavit of undertaking filed before the family court.
