China: Blinken attended a constructive meeting in Beijing

US Secretary of State Antony Blinken had "constructive" discussions with his Chinese counterpart Qin Gang in Beijing aimed at easing tensions between the US and China. The talks were described as "candid and substantive." US Defence Secretary Lloyd Austin has arrived in Singapore, part of a week-long tour of Southeast Asia. He is expected to discuss the situation in Afghanistan with regional leaders and reaffirm the US commitment to its allies in the region. Austin is also expected to visit Vietnam and the Philippines as part of his tour, however, his visit to China has been postponed due to tensions between the two nations.
