ISRO has announced that the Chandrayaan-3 orbiter has been mounted on its launch vehicle, the LVM3 rocket, in preparation for the highly-anticipated launch later this month. The spacecraft was moved into the vehicle assembly building at the Satish Dhawan Space Center in Sriharikota. The mission aims to further explore the moon's surface and gather more data about its mineral and chemical composition. The previous Chandrayaan-2 mission, which launched in 2019, had to be aborted due to technical issues. Chandrayaan-3, costing around Rs 600 crore, is being developed by ISRO to showcase its capability to safely land and operate a rover on the lunar surface.
