Ajit Pawar, the Nationalist Congress Party leader, has stated that there is no need to demand the resignation of Maharashtra chief minister Eknath Shinde following the Supreme Court verdict on the Sena vs Sena tussle. The Supreme Court ruled that Maharashtra Governor Bhagat Singh Koshiyari was wrong in concluding that Uddhav Thackeray had lost his majority following a revolt by Eknath Shinde. The court also noted that the governor had no objective evidence to call for a floor test. Ajit Pawar, ahead of the top court verdict, expressed confidence that there is no threat to the Shinde-Fadnavis government as long as they have the support of 154 MLAs in the house. Pawar stressed that the government is stable and expected to complete its full term with the support of its MLAs.
