NCP leader Ajit Pawar has voiced support for India's new parliament building, despite his party being among the 20 opposition groups that skipped the inauguration. Pawar claimed the facility was necessary considering the size of India's population. The building, designed to seat over 1,200 MPs, was opened on 10 December by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. However, opposition groups argued the government had not consulted with them on the project, which they claimed was a needless expenditure
