Chairperson of the National Commission for Women, Rekha Sharma, claimed that a team had been sent to the Bhilwara district of Rajasthan to investigate the alleged auctioning of the girls on stamping the papers to settle the disputes for their Loan repayments there. The NCW Chairperson has further informed that similar incidents have also been reported in the last few years, but the state Government has not taken any Action.
