India’s retail inflation remained above the Reserve Bank of India's (RBI) 6% ceiling for the second consecutive month in February, with the National Statistical Office (NSO) reporting a 6.44% increase. This was only slightly lower than the 6.52% rate seen in January. Urban consumers felt the pinch of inflation more, with prices climbing from 6% in January to 6.2% in February. To ease the burden, the RBI will need to take measures to bring inflation down to a more manageable level.
