Half a dozen IPL franchises to submit their formal interest in buying WIPL teams

 

Six leading Indian Premier League (IPL) franchises have submitted a formal interest to purchase teams in the Women's IPL (WIPL), according to a report by ESPNcricinfo. The six franchises, which include the Mumbai Indians, Chennai Super Kings, Royal Challengers Bangalore, Delhi Capitals, Kolkata Knight Riders, and Kings XI Punjab, have all expressed interest in joining the WIPL when it launches in 2021. The Women's IPL is a spin-off of the IPL and is expected to include eight teams. The WIPL will feature the same playing format as the men's tournament and will be played in the same venues.
